Contemporary Native Artists

Service Description

Participants Ages 8-12 Time: 11:00-12:00 Instructor: Amanda Funk and Widoktadwen Center Explore Native American art and artists of the present day! Contemporary artists create art in the present era (from about the 1970s to today). Themes depict the complex and diverse world of today’s Native American people, using varied creative media and challenging traditional ideas about Native identity. We’ll explore a new artist and creative style each week with a hands-on project. The class combines classroom learning with hands-on creative exploration.
