Working with Non-Profits (Group Project)
11:00-12:00 - Ages 12+
Service Description
Participants Ages 12+ Time: 11:00-12:00 Instructor: Rachel Klemmer, Erin Baker There are so many ways that you can make the world a better place right here in our community! As an extension to our fall class where students interacted with local charitable organizations to learn about the work they do to support the community, in this class our students will take on their own project from start to finish to support local non-profit work. Students will be working with Cafe Esperanza and the Berks County Community Foundation to develop their own initiative and work together through the grant writing process to see that initiative into fruition. In addition to learning first hand about how non-profit organizations are supported, students will need to work collaboratively with others to collectively achieve a goal. Reading Level Required - Students should be proficient readers for this class. Activity Level - This class will require focused attention and teamwork. This is not a physically active class.
