About Roots Collective
We are Berks County's leading Secular, Inclusive, Low-Cost Enrichment Program
for homeschooled and home-based (virtual and cyber charter) learners!!!
We were established in 2022 and are a grant and community supported 501c3 education-based non-profit. We are hosted at Zion Spies Lutheran Church Alsace Township and are based around the Reading Area for activities and events.

Are you a drop-off program?
Students 10+ and welcome to participate in our program as Drop-Off students. That means that their parents can sign them in and out or they can car pool with other families. We ask that parents of students under 10 stay to participate along side their learners.
Do I have to teach classes to participate?
Can I teach classes if I want to?
Parents do not have to teach or volunteer to participate in our program. They are welcome to participate as they might at a library program - to help and encourage their own kids and to assist them with their individual needs - or to step back and visit with and get to know other parents that are participating in the program. Many of our parents of children under 10 also have younger children that they are entertaining and that is part of what we love about having the whole family participate. Parents do not need to worry about teaching or volunteering as they would in a traditional coop. They can simply enjoy their time with the kids and other families.
On the flip side, some parents like to teach classes in order to use their skills and talents to cover the cost of their own children's participation. We always encourage that. That is how all of our current teachers got involved. We plan our schedules out in advance and coordinate our our offerings --- so if you think you would like to teach in future sessions please let us know! We will be happy to start the process of adding you to the schedule as spaces are available.
