Service Description
In this introductory course, students will explore the origins of photography, the mechanics behind camera operation, and the principles of creating captivating photos. The class will cover how film functions and is developed, along with instruction on utilizing various settings available on both film and digital cameras. Students will have the opportunity to work with both film and digital cameras to enhance their skills. Students should bring a camera with them to class that will be their primary camera to use when taking photography walks. This camera can be a digital point and shoot, a cell phone or tablet, a film camera, or a DSLR --- whatever you have available will do. Additional equipment will be provided for students to learn on and become familiar with different levels of camera equipment. Students should be able to commit to assignments that they will complete outside of class and bring with them to share and critique. Estimated time to complete assignments each week is 15 to 20 minutes.
